YEREVAN — Armenia’s National Assembly has adopted, in its second and final reading, legislative amendments prohibiting the broadcast of foreign television content that interferes in Armenia’s internal political affairs or promotes war.

The law also clarifies the grounds for suspending broadcasting licenses and introduces fines for violations.

Developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice and the Television and Radio Commission, the legislation empowers the regulatory authority to establish criteria for identifying prohibited content, including material that incites war or interferes in domestic political processes.

The law further defines mechanisms for suspending or revoking licenses of network operators found in violation.
