On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the Board of Directors of the Archbishop Hovnan Derderian Scholarship Fund hosted a special donor appreciation evening, La Notte del Vino, at In Vino & Spirits in La Cañada Flintridge.

Held in a warm and intimate atmosphere, the gathering offered a meaningful opportunity for supporters of the Scholarship Fund to connect, socialize, and enjoy one another’s company while reflecting on the lasting impact of their continued generosity on our students, schools, families, and communities.

Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed a thoughtfully curated experience featuring fine wines, gourmet selections, artisanal cheeses, and fellowship beneath the stars, all in support of the Scholarship Fund’s sacred mission.

Brief presentations highlighted the remarkable impact of the Fund, which has distributed approximately $672,000 in scholarships to Armenian schools throughout the years. In addition, through the Dr. Harry Demirgian Endowment, $40,000 has been awarded to 16 college students pursuing higher education.

Supporters of the Scholarship Fund share a deep belief in the transformative power of education and in the enduring mission this Fund advances. Through their vision and generosity, endowment funds have been established totaling $1,507,776: a living legacy entrusted by our donors, the earnings of which are distributed each year in scholarships, while the principal remains preserved to sustain this sacred cause for generations to come.

The evening was filled with gratitude as we celebrated the generosity, commitment, and faithful stewardship of our donors.

It concluded with warm and inspiring remarks by Archbishop Hovnan Derderian. His Eminence expressed heartfelt appreciation to all supporters and encouraged everyone to continue investing in the education and future of our youth.
