BRUSSELS — Polish diplomat Piotr Switalski has been appointed the new Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia.

Switalski is a career diplomat holding the rank of titular ambassador. He is currently serving as Director for Policy Planning in the Council of Europe and was formerly the Permanent Representative of Poland to the Council of Europe.

In 2005-2010, he served as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Poland to the Council of Europe.

Mr Switalski holds a PhD in International Relations from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, while he studied at the Warsaw University.

Formerly, the EU Delegation to Armenia has been headed by Traian Hristea .
