HALLE, GERMANY — Arthur Abraham has retained his WBO world super middleweight title with a sixth-round TKO over German rival Robert Stieglitz in Halle on Saturday night.

Abraham (43-4. 29 KOs) was too strong for Stieglitz (47-5-1, 27 KOs) battering his opponent with a series of shots before dropping him with a hard right hand to the jaw. Although Stieglitz beat the count and looked like he wanted to continue, he was badly hurt and his trainer held up a towel in the corner to stop the fight.

It was the fourth time the two rivals had clashed since 2012 with Abraham up in the head-to-head meetings 3-1.
