YEREVAN — The Armenian government has approved the allocation of funds to provide humanitarian assistance to Lebanon amid the humanitarian crisis caused by ongoing military conflict in the country.

Under the decision, approximately 60 million drams will be allocated from the government’s reserve fund. Of that amount, 34 million drams will be used to purchase food supplies and sanitary-hygiene products, while 26 million drams will be allocated for the purchase of medicines to be delivered to Lebanon as humanitarian aid.

According to the government’s justification, the ongoing hostilities in Lebanon have created a severe humanitarian crisis, significantly increasing the population’s need for food, hygiene supplies, essential goods, and medicine.

Armenia plans to provide targeted humanitarian support aimed at meeting the immediate needs of affected civilians by supplying food products, sanitary items, and medical assistance.

The list of required goods was provided by Armenia’s Foreign Ministry through working-level coordination.
