MONTEVIDEO — On April 8, TUMO officially opened its first center in Uruguay, located in Montevideo. The opening ceremony was attended by Uruguayan President Yamandú Orsi, Corporación América Airports CEO Martín Eurnekian, TUMO’s Head of International Programs Chris Sahakian, and other distinguished guests.

Launched in partnership with Aeropuertos Uruguay, Corporación América Airports, and Ceibal, TUMO Uruguay will be able to welcome up to 1,500 students per week.

In another major development, Google announced a partnership with TUMO Uruguay for the next two years, enabling students to access world-class educational resources, particularly new opportunities in the field of AI.

“It is incredibly exciting to see more and more teenagers gaining access to TUMO’s unique educational model. The best way to celebrate our 15th anniversary is by launching new centers in different parts of the world and opening new horizons for young people to develop their knowledge and skills,” said Chris Sahakian.

In its milestone 15th anniversary year, TUMO continues to expand, with plans to open 30 centers across 15 countries by the end of 2026.
