YEREVAN — Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan has warned that Armenian citizens who accept election bribes abroad will be arrested upon entering the country.
In a video posted on social media, Rubinyan stated that accepting election bribes is a criminal offense and that authorities are monitoring not only domestic developments but also activities outside Armenia.
He added that individuals who have accepted bribes through networks allegedly linked to Archbishop Ezras should be aware that they are under special scrutiny by Armenian authorities. “If you have taken money, you will be arrested as soon as you arrive in Armenia,” he said.
Rubinyan also addressed those who have not accepted bribes, encouraging them to participate in elections. “To our fellow citizens who have not taken money and wish to come to Armenia to vote, this is highly commendable, and we welcome your intention to fulfill your civic duty,” he added.
