BEIRUT — In light of the rising tensions in the region and the developments in Lebanon, a decision was made—following consultations with the Lebanese side—to arrange the early return of the Yerevan Municipality’s “Yerevan” Youth Orchestra-Ensemble to Armenia. The group, including accompanying staff, consisted of 87 people.

As a result of negotiations between the Armenian Embassy and Middle East Airlines, the airline agreed to organize an additional special flight specifically for this purpose. Continuous coordination was also maintained with the Yerevan Municipality.

Through a hotline launched by the embassy, Armenian citizens in Lebanon who wished to leave the country at that time were directed to register for the flight in order to travel to Armenia.

Armenia’s Ambassador to Lebanon, Sarmen Baghdasaryan, along with embassy diplomats, coordinated and escorted the ensemble’s transfer through areas affected by shelling to the airport.

The aircraft operating the flight has already landed in Yerevan.

The Armenian Embassy expressed its deep gratitude to Lebanon’s Minister of Tourism Laura Lahoud and Middle East Airlines Chairman Mohammad Al-Hout for their support and for helping make the flight possible.
