“34,576 individuals displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh have received citizenship of the Republic of Armenia,” stated Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan during a discussion titled “Socio-Economic Integration of Armenians Displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.”
She added that around 1,000 additional applications—currently in the form of draft decrees—are under review at the Office of the President of Armenia. “In the coming days, we expect resolutions for another 1,000 individuals, which will allow us to further accelerate the process,” she noted.
The minister also emphasized that there have been zero rejections, underscoring the Armenian government’s commitment to ensuring a rapid and inclusive integration process.
“We have had 28,000 displaced minors, of whom approximately 12,000 have already obtained Armenian citizenship through documentation procedures, taking into account their parents’ citizenship status,” Sargsyan explained.
