In his last day in Office Former Governor Schwarzenegger has appointed three Armenians to State Commissions.
Lisa Kalustian, 47, of North Hills, has been appointed to the Sierra Nevada Conservancy. Since 2004, she has been chief deputy director of Governor Schwarzenegger’s Los Angeles Office. Kalustian worked for Health Net, where she was vice president of public affairs for the western region from 2001 to 2004 and associate vice president of communications and public relations from 1999 to 2001. Prior to that, she worked for the Office of Governor Pete Wilson as a deputy cabinet secretary in 1999 and deputy press secretary from 1996 to 1998. Kalustian worked for the State of California’s Health and Welfare Agency as deputy associate secretary for external affairs from 1995 to 1996 and as special assistant for external affairs from 1994 to 1995. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Kalustian is a Republican.
Lindsay Barsamian, 30, of Fresno, has been appointed to the Legislative Task Force on Summer and Intersession Enrichment. She has served as the director of the Governor Schwarzenegger’s Fresno Field Office since 2007, where she previously served as deputy director from 2006 to 2007, field representative from 2005 to 2006 and administrative assistant from 2004 to 2005. She worked as a campaign assistant for Mike Villines in 2004. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Barsamian is a Republican.
Hraztan Zeitlian, 43, of Los Angeles, has been reappointed to the California Architects Board, where he has served as a member since 2008. He has been vice president and director of design of the Santa Monica office of DLR Group WWCOT since 2009. From 2007 to 2009, Zeitlian was vice president and director of design of the Los Angeles office of Leo A. Daly. He is founder of Struere, a research-based architectural think tank. In 2009, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa appointed Zeitlian to the Mayor’s Design Advisory Panel. He is a board member of the Los Angeles Business Council and a member of the American Institute of Architects, Los Angeles Chapter. This appointment does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Zeitlian is a Republican.
