KAUNAS  — The Armenia national futsal team has concluded its historic debut at the final stage of the UEFA Futsal Euro 2026. Competing in the tournament for the first time, Armenia faced the Croatia national futsal team in the quarterfinals and suffered a 3–0 defeat.

The match, held at Žalgiris Arena in Kaunas, was effectively decided in the first half. The Croatian side started confidently, scoring three unanswered goals against Armenia. The team coached by Ruben Nazaretyan also created several clear scoring opportunities, but lacked precision in the final touch.

After the break, Armenia took the initiative, controlling possession more and increasing attacking pressure. In the final 10 minutes, the team switched to the “fifth outfield player” tactic, replacing the goalkeeper to push forward, but was unable to change the scoreline.

Armenia exits the tournament after an impressive group-stage performance. In Group B, the team finished first, defeating Ukraine national futsal team, the bronze medalist of the 2024 World Cup, by 2–1, edging Czech Republic national futsal team 5–4, and drawing 3–3 with Lithuania national futsal team.
