YEREVAN (FIBA) – Hosts Armenia completed an unbeaten campaign and reclaimed the FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2026, Division C title with an 97-68 victory over Malta in the Final, lifting the trophy for the first time since 2017.
Armenia controlled the contest for much of the game. Malta led only during the opening seconds before the hosts gradually built a double-digit advantage and extended their lead after the break to put the Final beyond reach.
Dmitri Hajyan led Armenia with 32 points after knocking down five three-pointers in the first half, while Anthony Sarkesian produced another dominant all-around performance with 18 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists.
Armenia also received strong contributions from Mihail Petrov and Ethan Leonardo Kazanjian as four players finished in double figures.
Beau Samuel Kisvarda once again led Malta with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals, but the Semi-Final heroes were unable to recover after falling behind early against the hosts.
In the semifinal, Armenia defeated Moldova 82–66 to advance to the tournament final. Anthony Sargsyan was the game’s most efficient player, recording an efficiency rating of 34.
Earlier in the day, Kosovo claimed the bronze medal with an 86-70 victory over Moldova. After a competitive opening, Kosovo gradually took control of the game and built their advantage before pulling away in the fourth quarter.
Orik Istrefi led the winners with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists, while Almir Dervishi added 27 points, 15 rebounds and 3 steals.
Andorra secured fifth place after going unbeaten in the Classification Group 5-9, capped by a 100-64 victory over Albania on the final day. Pol Vilana contributed 21 points, 4 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Monaco finished sixth, followed by Albania, Gibraltar and San Marino.
