YEREVAN — Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has denied claims by members of the Strong Armenia alliance that the current Armenian government has assumed obligations regarding the resettlement of Azerbaijanis in Armenia.

Responding to Samvel Karapetyan’s statement that if no such obligation exists, Pashinyan should publicly say it is false, the prime minister said: “I am sitting here and telling the man from Kaluga: it is false.”

Asked whether he guarantees that Azerbaijanis will not be resettled in Armenia during his time in power, Pashinyan replied: “Yes, I give guarantees.”

He said the issue is connected to his position that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is closed and will not continue.

“There will be no topic of return to Karabakh, no topic of return to Nakhichevan, Baku, Sumgait, Kirovabad, Yevlakh, and so on,” Pashinyan said. “Yes, I guarantee it. It is an absurd topic. It is a topic of conflict, not peace.”

Pashinyan also addressed a recent video in which masked and armed individuals speaking in the Karabakh dialect threatened to kill him, allegedly in defense of Karabakh’s existence.

The prime minister said authorities have approximately identified the individuals in the video, but added that the information is operational and not yet proven. According to him, the suspected individuals have not been in Armenia since 2024.

The Investigative Committee has launched an investigation into preparation for murder, computer sabotage, and illegal circulation of firearms and ammunition.
