GYUMRI — Armenia will achieve visa liberalization with the European Union within two years at the latest, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on May 24 during a campaign stop in Maralik, Shirak Province.
According to Pashinyan, the number of people traveling from Armenia to EU countries increased by 500 percent between 2018 and 2025, which has affected the process.
“They tell us: You have such good relations with the European Union, can’t you solve the visa issue? But do you know why that is? Because from 2018 to 2025, the number of people traveling from Armenia to the EU increased by 500 percent,” Pashinyan said.
He assured that the issue of Armenia-EU visa liberalization will be resolved within two years at the latest.
“At that point, all you will have to remember when going to Larnaca is your passport. As for the ticket, you know, it costs two euros,” Pashinyan added.
