DUBLIN — On July 28, reigning Armenian champion Ararat-Armenia faced Irish side Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght Stadium in the second leg of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League second qualifying round.
The first leg between the two teams ended in a 2-0 victory for the Yerevan-based club.
Shamrock Rovers took a two-goal lead in the first half of the return leg through goals from Hill and Greene. However, Sandro Lima scored for Ararat-Armenia in the second half.
Despite suffering a 2-1 defeat in Dublin, Ararat-Armenia won the tie 3-2 on aggregate and advanced to the third qualifying round of the Champions League.
In the next round, Ararat-Armenia will face Slovenian side Celje.
