OTTAWA — Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to visit Armenia next week alongside European leaders to attend the European Political Community summit, according to the European Commission’s website. Carney will become the first non-European leader to participate in this format as a guest since its founding.
According to the official statement, the summit will be held under the theme “Building the Future: Unity and Resilience in Europe.”
“Discussions in Yerevan will focus on strengthening democratic resilience, developing connectivity, and enhancing economic and energy security. Participants will explore how closer cooperation and coordinated action can contribute to a more resilient, secure, and unified European space,” the European Commission stated.
