BAKU — President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has received a delegation of U.S. senators.
The delegation congratulated the Azerbaijani head of state on the progress achieved in advancing the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia following the agreements reached last August in Washington.
Highlighting the historic significance of the agreements, Aliyev particularly emphasized the role of U.S. President Donald Trump in this process. The Azerbaijani president stated that his country will continue to make efforts to promote the regional peace agenda.
Noting that trade relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia have already been established, Aliyev underscored the importance of exporting Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia, as well as supplying wheat from Kazakhstan and Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijan. He also expressed hope that the TRIPP corridor will create new opportunities for regional connectivity.
