SAINT PETERSBURG — A meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin took place in Saint Petersburg. According to RIA Novosti, during a one-on-one conversation the sides discussed a wide range of issues related to the bilateral agenda and regional developments.
During the talks, Vladimir Putin noted that the two countries have promising cooperation projects in the energy sector—including nuclear energy—as well as in logistics. The Russian president also addressed trade turnover indicators, emphasizing the need to refine them to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
Another key topic of the meeting was the normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku. According to Russian media reports, Nikol Pashinyan thanked the Russian side for its support of the peace process. The Armenian prime minister stated that establishing stability in the region would create new prospects for the development of Armenian–Russian relations. As reported by RIA Novosti, Pashinyan also stressed that achieving peace between the parties would open new opportunities for relations with Moscow.
Following the meeting, Pashinyan met with representatives of the Armenian community of Saint Petersburg.
During his meeting with the community, the prime minister discussed the issues addressed in his talks with the Russian president, the Armenian government’s priorities, foreign policy, economic development, the concept of “Real Armenia,” ongoing developments in regional trade and economic cooperation, the TRIPP project, and other topics.
Prime Minister Pashinyan also answered questions from participants at the meeting.
