YEREVAN — On December 18, the latest round of Armenia–Greece bilateral defense consultations took place at the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia. The talks were led by Levon Ayvazyan, Head of the Department of Defense Policy and International Cooperation of Armenia’s Ministry of Defense, and Brigadier General Christos Spiropoulos, Director of the International Relations Directorate of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, according to the Ministry’s press service.
During the consultations, the parties reviewed the work carried out in 2025 within the framework of defense cooperation and discussed plans for 2026.
The sides expressed satisfaction that, thanks to joint efforts, cooperation has reached a new qualitative level—not only in scale but also in substance. The partnership has now taken on a comprehensive character, encompassing several new areas of mutual interest.
Levon Ayvazyan also presented the ongoing transformation process of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.
The interlocutors further exchanged views on a number of issues related to regional and international security.
At the conclusion of the consultations, the 2026 Armenia–Greece Bilateral Defense Cooperation Program was signed. The program includes several dozen activities to be carried out in both Greece and Armenia.
