TBILISI  – During an official visit to Tbilisi, President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan met with President of  Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili to discuss opportunities for cooperation and regional developments.

Khachaturyan briefed his Georgian counterpart on the results of the trilateral meeting held in Washington on August 8, as well as the potential economic impact of unblocking regional infrastructure.
“It was emphasized that the process is a logical continuation of Armenia’s ‘Crossroads of Peace’ initiative, which aims to promote cooperation, connectivity, and the opening of communication routes throughout the region,” the Armenian side stated in its official press release.

The two presidents exchanged views on establishing peace in the South Caucasus, unblocking transport routes and logistical corridors — including the ‘TRIPP’ project — and discussed the new opportunities that their implementation would create for the region and broader international markets.

They also discussed possible routes that would provide Georgia with access to the Persian Gulf, as well as potential ways to activate the Gyumri–Kars railway, both of which could strengthen the Europe–Central Asia transportation network.
