MONTEVIDEO — During his official visit to Uruguay, President Vahagn Khachaturyan visited “Armenia” Square in Montevideo to pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. He laid flowers at the khachkar (cross-stone) memorial dedicated to their memory.

President Khachaturyan also attended the inauguration ceremony of Uruguay’s newly elected president, Yamandú Orsi, and participated in the official transfer of power.

The event was attended by leaders from around fifteen countries, along with numerous delegations from across the globe at various levels of government.

As part of the inauguration ceremony, the Armenian President visited Uruguay’s presidential residence, where he met with President Yamandú Orsi. He extended his congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Republic of Armenia and himself on the occasion of President Orsi assuming office.
