YEREVAN — Four people were convicted of treason in Armenia during 2025 and 2026 and sentenced to prison terms ranging from 15 to 16 years, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
In some cases, additional penalties were imposed, including deprivation of military rank and confiscation of property.
On December 23, 2025, the Criminal Court of First Instance of Gegharkunik Province found one individual guilty under Article 418, Part 1 of the Criminal Code and sentenced the person to 15 years in prison, along with deprivation of military rank.
On March 3, 2026, another individual was convicted by the same court under Article 418, Part 1 and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
On March 10, 2026, the Criminal Court of First Instance of Syunik Province sentenced another individual to 15 years in prison under the same provision of the Criminal Code.
On June 26, 2026, the Criminal Court of First Instance of Yerevan sentenced a fourth individual to 16 years in prison and ordered the confiscation of property worth more than $20,000.
Thus, during the period in question, four people convicted of treason received prison sentences of 15 to 16 years. In one case, the defendant was stripped of military rank, while in another, property was confiscated.
