ATHENS — A meeting between President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan and President of Greece Konstantinos Tasoulas took place at the Presidential Palace in Athens.
The meeting followed the official welcoming ceremony for the Armenian president.
The two leaders first held a private discussion, followed by talks in an expanded format with their respective delegations. The Greek delegation included Deputy Foreign Minister Giannis Michail Loverdos, Secretary General of the Presidency Aliki Chatzis, Secretary General for International Economic Relations Dimitris Skalkos, Director of the Military Office of the Presidency Efthymios Mikros, and other officials.
The Armenian delegation included Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan; Member of Parliament and head of the Armenia–Greece Friendship Group Hayk Konjoryan; Chief of Staff of the President Khachatur Poghosyan; Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan; First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry Gevorg Mantashyan; and other representatives.
The agenda of the meeting focused on expanding multi-sector cooperation between Armenia and Greece, including in the areas of security, economy, trade, technology, science, and education.
In the field of technology, bilateral cooperation will receive new momentum with the signing of a memorandum of understanding. The document will be signed by First Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia Gevorg Mantashyan and First Deputy Minister of Digital Governance of Greece Christos Dermetzopoulos.
Within the framework of the presidential meeting, a decoration ceremony is also planned. The President of Greece will award the Armenian president the Grand Cross of the Order of the Redeemer, while the President of Armenia will present his Greek counterpart with the Order of Glory.
