KAUNAS – At the Žalgiris Arena in Kaunas, Lithuania, Armenia’s national futsal team recorded a historic, hard-fought victory in the opening round of Group B of the EURO 2026 group stage, defeating reigning world bronze medalists Ukraine 2–1.
Ukraine opened the scoring in the 26th minute of the second half through Vladyslav Pervieiev. Armenia responded with determination as Mihran Dermendzhyan equalized in the 30th minute and then completed a brace just minutes before the final whistle, scoring the decisive goal to seal the win.
Armenia’s national futsal team will face the Czech Republic in the second round. The match is scheduled for January 25 at 16:00 Yerevan time.
