YEREVAN — At the December 4 session of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, two items on the agenda concerned the formal allocation of property to the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Environment.

Before addressing the agenda items, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, presented information on the outcomes of the Prosecutor’s Office’s exclusive authority to file lawsuits for the protection of state and community interests since January 1, 2025, as well as on the assets and funds returned to the state or communities as a result of prosecutorial actions.

Anna Vardapetyan noted in particular:
“From January 1, 2025 to the present, within the framework of the Prosecutor’s Office’s exclusive authority to file claims for the protection of state (community) interests, as well as as a result of prosecutorial interventions, property and monetary assets equivalent to $174 million 545 thousand, with a total value of 66 billion 250 million drams, have been returned to the state or communities. This includes three kindergartens, a cultural center, a stadium, a natural monument, parks, land plots, and monetary funds.”

Referring to the agenda items under which property was allocated to the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Environment, the Prosecutor General emphasized:
“The property being allocated to the Ministry of Defense is a 1.92-hectare special-purpose land plot located in Sayat-Nova village of the Masis community, Ararat Province.”
