ASTANA — As part of his official visit to Kazakhstan, Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed key issues on the agenda of Armenian-Kazakh bilateral relations. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the recent progress in high-level political dialogue and reviewed the implementation process of previously reached agreements.

Mirzoyan and Tokayev exchanged views on further developing strategic partnerships between the two countries and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Emphasis was placed on launching joint initiatives in sectors such as economy, trade, transportation, innovation, and education.

In the context of economic development and interconnectivity, the discussion highlighted the importance of efficient use of transport and logistics corridors and efforts to increase freight volumes.

The Armenian Foreign Minister and the Kazakh President also exchanged views on international and regional matters.

Ararat Mirzoyan expressed appreciation for Kazakhstan’s position in supporting the advancement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process, particularly regarding the signing of a peace treaty. He stressed that Armenia is ready to sign the treaty, which can be achieved through the demonstration of political will from both sides.
