YEREVAN — The Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) has advanced to the practical implementation stage, and a groundbreaking ceremony could take place in early 2027, Armenia’s Ambassador to the United States Narek Mkrtchyan said.
“If we look at how far the project has advanced over the course of one year and how much progress we have made, I must say that for a project of this scale, we have achieved quite significant results,” Mkrtchyan told reporters.
According to the ambassador, an ongoing study is expected to be completed within the next one or two months, after which practical steps could begin in early 2027.
“The project has matured and has already reached the practical implementation stage. We believe that it will be possible to hold a groundbreaking ceremony early next year,” Mkrtchyan said.
TRIPP is a regional transportation initiative that Armenian officials say would establish direct rail connectivity between Armenia and Azerbaijan and integrate Armenia more extensively into international transportation networks.
