YEREVAN — “I have a historical homeland, but I choose my present-day homeland, which is the Republic of Armenia,” Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan said during remarks at the National Assembly.
“One of the opposition MPs said that the Republic of Armenia is the homeland of all Armenians. We say the same thing. My ancestors come from Cilicia, and I, too, have a historical homeland, but I choose my homeland, which is the Republic of Armenia,” Galyan said.
“Is there another homeland for you, dear colleagues, other than the Republic of Armenia? Is there another state interest other than the interests of the Republic of Armenia that you are prepared or wish to serve?”
Galyan emphasized that, as a member of the government, she is prepared to serve only the interests of the Republic of Armenia.
“Mr. Vardevanyan, the fact that you come here and read from the podium expressions separated by commas does not mean that the Constitution defines pan-Armenian national objectives. Please do not make statements that do not correspond to reality,” Galyan said.
