LISBON – “Zartsants” is launched! It is a new online programme in Western Armenian for children, youth and adults from all over the world. In an enjoyable, safe and warm environment, Zartsants makes Western Armenian part of everyone’s daily routine through a variety of engaging workshops. The programme begins on September 20, 2026.
Participants from three years old and up will have the opportunity to express themselves, exchange ideas, create, discover, read, draw, write, sing and play in Western Armenian, naturally developing their language skills and experiences along the way. By joining group workshops, they can immerse themselves in the language for 3 to 5 hours a week.
Born out of the online experience of the Zarmanazan summer programme, Zartsants is a digital space where language comes alive naturally, built on innovative pedagogical and social principles.
The programme is open to everyone: complete beginners, advanced speakers, those wanting to learn how to read and write, or anyone simply looking for more opportunities to practice the language.
Zartsants is an initiative of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and is organised by the Lyon-based association Mille et un mondes.
