YEREVAN — Romanos Petrosyan, temporary manager of Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), has outlined five major achievements that he says were accomplished during nearly one year of state intervention and temporary management of the company.
In a post on Facebook, Petrosyan said he decided to highlight the results after numerous members of parliament, both from the ruling Civil Contract faction and opposition groups, repeatedly referred to ENA in recent days.
“I simply considered it necessary to point out five significant achievements that we have accomplished during nearly one year of temporary management of ENA through state intervention,” Petrosyan wrote.
According to him, ENA improved its position by eight places on Armenia’s list of the 1,000 largest taxpayers, rising from 21st to 13th place. During the first half of 2026, the company paid 62 percent more in taxes than during the same period in 2025.
Petrosyan also said ENA has repaid approximately $50 million in loans, including some ahead of schedule, out of nearly $400 million in obligations owed to a number of international and local banks. At the same time, the nominal value of ENA bonds on the financial market has increased by 7 to 10 percent.
He said that, in preparation for the COP17 summit to be hosted in Armenia, ENA has commissioned the construction of the country’s first modern 35/6 kV high-voltage modular substation. The project is valued at 1.2 billion drams.
According to Petrosyan, fees for becoming a new subscriber to the distribution network have been reduced by as much as 40 percent, while coefficients for increasing existing capacity have been cut by up to 55 percent. As a result, applications to connect to ENA’s distribution network have increased four- to fivefold.
Petrosyan also said salaries have been increased by 12 to 25 percent for more than half of the company’s employees, approximately 3,400 to 3,500 people. ENA is also covering monthly electricity expenses for about 400 employees who have three or more minor children. In addition, approximately 500 employees at the company’s headquarters are being provided with free meals at the company’s expense.
“ENA now serves our people,” Petrosyan concluded.
