YEREVAN — Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation led by Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi, vice president of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The prime minister welcomed the Iranian vice president’s visit to Armenia. Pashinyan emphasized the importance of strengthening peace and stability in the region and expressed confidence that it would contribute to the consistent development of relations and cooperation throughout the region.

Seyed Hamid Pourmohammadi conveyed the warm greetings of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to Prime Minister Pashinyan and thanked the Armenian government for its position and humanitarian support toward Iran during a difficult situation.

The sides then discussed the progress of programs aimed at developing Armenia-Iran border infrastructure. In particular, they addressed issues related to the construction of a second bridge and a new terminal, the consistent development of cooperation in the customs sector, and customs procedures.

Both sides emphasized the importance of developing cooperation in the energy sector.

They also discussed joint road construction projects, as well as steps aimed at further developing cooperation in agriculture, mining, infrastructure and other areas.

The sides exchanged views on the process of unblocking regional communications and the new opportunities it may create.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Prime Minister Pashinyan conveyed his warm greetings to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
