YEREVAN — Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee reports that, between February 7 and May 19, 2026, a total of 57 criminal proceedings were initiated in connection with election-related crimes.
According to the Committee, 86 people were arrested in 22 of those proceedings, while criminal charges were brought against 94 individuals. Five defendants have been declared wanted. Detention or house arrest was selected as a preventive measure for 49 defendants, while alternative preventive measures were applied to 38 others.
The Committee said numerous investigative actions were carried out in the 22 criminal proceedings, including the questioning of more than 200 people and searches conducted at several offices.
In seven proceedings involving 22 individuals, the preliminary investigation has been completed and the cases have been submitted to the supervising prosecutor with indictments for referral to court.
“The Anti-Corruption Committee once again urges all participants in the electoral process to act lawfully and warns that election-related corruption crimes remain under the Committee’s daily scrutiny,” the statement said.
