YEREVAN — A court ruling has ordered the confiscation of illegally acquired assets and funds from former Abovyan mayor Karapet Gulyan and Roza Tsarukyan, daughter of businessman Gagik Tsarukyan, totaling approximately 1.3 billion drams, according to Armenia’s Prosecutor General’s Office.
The decision of the Anti-Corruption Court has entered into legal force following a ruling by the Court of Cassation, which partially upheld the appeal filed by the Deputy Prosecutor General.
The lawsuit was originally filed by the Prosecutor General’s Office’s Department for the Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Property against Karapet Gulyan and associated individuals.
According to the final ruling, the following assets will be confiscated in favor of the Republic of Armenia:
Approximately 90% of a property located in Arinj village (Kotayk Province),
A land plot in Tsaghkadzor,
2,000 shares in Acba Bank,
The right to claim $264,000 from an unpaid loan issued in 2021 to “Belglass” company.
Additional amounts to be confiscated from Gulyan include:
934,000 drams related to shares in “Electromontazh” company,
1.227 billion drams classified as unjustified expenditures between 2007–2022,
58.1 million drams identified as remaining illegal income.
