YEREVAN — Ahead of Armenia’s National Assembly elections scheduled for June 7, 2026, a meeting was held under the leadership of the Chair of the Anti-Corruption Committee to discuss the committee’s responsibilities and the challenges it may face during the upcoming nationwide vote.
Key issues on the meeting’s agenda included:
- The formation of a monitoring headquarters for overseeing the electoral process,
- Defining the committee’s functions in addressing hybrid threats,
- Coordinating the complementary work of investigative and operational units, as well as planning upcoming tasks,
- Improving the professional preparedness of personnel involved in detecting, uncovering, and investigating electoral crimes.
During the meeting, the committee chair was briefed on the current status of ongoing work, and existing issues and upcoming priorities were reviewed.
Following the discussions, the chair issued clear instructions regarding the timeline, composition, and operating procedures for establishing the electoral monitoring headquarters, as well as clarifying the tools and measures needed to counter hybrid threats. Instructions were also given to ensure coordinated planning between investigative and operational divisions.
The meeting emphasized the important role of the committee in ensuring the transparency and legality of the electoral process, as well as the need for effective coordination of actions to enable a swift and consistent response to potential risks.
