WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Vice President J. D. Vance will arrive in Armenia and Azerbaijan following his participation in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games in Milan, according to the Associated Press.

At the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, Vice President Vance will lead the U.S. delegation, which includes his wife Usha Vance, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the U.S. Ambassador to Italy Tilman Fertitta.

“After Italy, Vance will travel to Armenia and Azerbaijan, where President Trump has tasked him with advancing an agreement aimed at ending the four-decade-long conflict between the two countries,” the Associated Press reported.

The opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games will take place in Milan on February 6.

U.S. President Donald Trump had announced in late January that Vice President Vance would visit Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“We are deepening our strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, finalizing an excellent peaceful nuclear cooperation agreement with Armenia, securing contracts for our semiconductor manufacturers, selling U.S.-made defense equipment to Azerbaijan—such as body armor and boats—and more,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social.

According to unofficial information, Vice President Vance’s visit to Armenia is expected to take place on February 9.
