YEREVAN — The European Union Monitoring Mission in Armenia has expressed pride in continuing its efforts to support the preservation of peace and security in the South Caucasus.
The statement was shared on the Mission’s X (formerly Twitter) page, accompanied by a video presenting its ongoing activities.
“We are proud to remain committed to supporting peace and security in the region by conducting uninterrupted, around-the-clock monitoring along the Armenia–Azerbaijan border,” the Mission said in its post.
The EU Monitoring Mission was deployed in the territory of the Republic of Armenia in 2023 for an initial two-year mandate. In January 2025, the Council of the European Union decided to extend the Mission’s mandate for an additional two years.
The Mission conducts patrols along the Armenian–Azerbaijani border, continuously monitors the security situation, and reports on developments. Its objective is to contribute to the safety of local populations in Armenia’s conflict-affected areas and to foster an environment of trust.
