YEREVAN — A large-scale tourism and regional infrastructure development program (TRIP) will be implemented in Armenia across seven regional tourism clusters: Goris, Areni, Jermuk, Yeghegis, Dvin, Gyumri, and Dilijan. The program has a total budget of €120.5 million, according to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Economy.
Yesterday, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan presented the program during a meeting with tourism industry representatives and regional authorities in Vayots Dzor. He announced that a local working group will be established to facilitate the project’s implementation.
The initiative aims to stimulate the growth of wine tourism, healthcare and wellness tourism, adventure tourism, cultural and educational tourism, and ecotourism throughout the regions.
In the Vayots Dzor region specifically, planned investments include road reconstruction, the development of wellness, wine, and agrotourism facilities, HoReCa sector training, and improvements to museum, cultural, and adventure tourism infrastructure.
