YEREVAN — Former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has stated that Armenian prisoners unlawfully held in Baku must be immediately released.

During a press conference, he addressed the notion that the return of prisoners should be a key condition for establishing peace.

“Imagine we have a peace agreement. This means that all issues or concerns raised during the peace negotiations have been resolved. In other words, the agreement itself dictates that all prisoners must be immediately released and allowed to return home,” Rasmussen emphasized.

Earlier, it was reported that former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen had arrived in Armenia as part of a visit with ambassadors from G7 and EU countries.

Rasmussen is currently in Ijevan and, during a press conference, informed journalists that he had met with the EU monitoring delegation.
