WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. President Donald Trump has appointed Michael E. Kavoukjian as the next United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway.

“I am pleased to announce that Michael E. Kavoukjian will serve as the next United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway”, Trump announced on his own social media platform, Truth Social.

Kavoukjian is a lawyer and former CIA officer. The New York Times also points out that he has donated a lot of money to the Republican Party. In 2024, Kavoukjian donated a whopping $700,000 to Trump’s campaign apparatus.

Trump writes that “Michael is a brilliant attorney, who currently serves as a Senior Partner at White & Case, where he has led complex commercial litigation teams around the World.”
