STEPANAKERT — Nagorno-Karabakh army soldier was killed early on Friday while thwarting an infringement attempt by the Azerbaijani side in the northeastern direction (Talish) of the line of contact. The soldier was identified as private Erik Grigorian, born in 1995.

The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Ministry said that the Grigorian was killed when “Nagorno-Karabakh armed forces fought with Azerbaijan’s sabotage and reconnaissance group that tried to cross the border” early on December 4.

The military authorities in Stepanakert also say that in the period from Thursday to early Friday morning, the Azerbaijan side violated the ceasefire regime along the Line of Contact around 80 times. The rival fired over 65 shots from artillery armory of various calibers, AOP-17, RPG-7 grenade launchers and TR-107 jet rocket installation.

The NKR Defense Ministry said the Army divisions are taking necessary measures to silence the rival.
