WASHINGTON, DC — On December 10, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Karen Mirzoyan met with U.S. Congressman Adam Schiff. During the meeting, issues related to the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Nagorno Karabakh, the provocations on the Line of Contact by the Azerbaijani armed forces, as well as the U.S. humanitarian assistance to Artsakh were discussed.

On the same day Karen Mirzoyan met with a group of regional experts. The NKR Foreign Minister briefed on the process of independent state building in Artsakh, the economic situation and development prospects. Answering the experts` questions, Karen Mirzoyan touched upon the challenges the NKR is facing, in particular the current situation in the process of peaceful settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.

The NKR Foreign Minister’s visit to Washington was concluded with a reception held in the same evening in the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the USA, which was attended by diplomats, representatives of the American Armenian organizations and community, religious leaders, and journalists.

RA Ambassador to the USA Tigran Sargsyan and NKR Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. In his speech, Karen Mirzoyan expressed his gratitude for the cordial reception and support provided to Artsakh and stressed the importance of national unity in the settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.
