YEREVAN — The US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Ambassador James Warlick has reaffirmed his country’s stance on maintaining peace around Nagorno-Karabakh, calling for efforts to respect the ceasefire along the Line of Contact.

In response to Armenian state news agency Armenpress question as how the Untied States assess the fact that immediately after the European Games in Baku Azerbaijan again destabilizes the situation violating the ceasefire both on the ArmenianAzerbaijan border and along the Line of Contact of Artsakh-Azerbaijan, Warlick stated.”The United States has repeatedly urged the parties to take all measures to respect the ceasefire, a message the co-chairs collectively brought to the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan during our meetings in the region last week.

“We remain hopeful the sides will continue to exhibit the restraint they demonstrated over the last several months, which will only help our efforts to mediate a lasting settlement. If the sides truly want a negotiated settlement, they need to reduce tensions along the Line of Contact and the Armenia-Azerbaijan border,” Ambassador Warlick concluded.

After the European Games in Baku Azerbaijan again has shown unconstructive attitude violating the ceasefire and causing tension on the border. According to the official press releases of the Ministry of Defense of NagornoKarabakh Republic and the Republic of Armenia, the rival is violating the ceasefire every day using different caliber weapons. The Armenian Armed Forces are in control of the situation and successfully carry out counterattacks silencing the rival’s activeness.
