SYUNIK — Representatives of Armenia and the United States held meetings in Goris, Meghri and Kapan with representatives of local communities to discuss the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project.
Representatives of Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires David Allen, U.S. State Department Senior Adviser for Policy Planning Dr. Jon Askonas, and representatives of the engineering firm AECOM participated in the meetings.
Representatives of Syunik communities received updates directly from Armenian and U.S. officials on the implementation of TRIPP in Armenia. They also had an opportunity to ask questions, present their views and discuss how expanded regional connectivity could create new economic opportunities for Armenia, particularly Syunik, while supporting the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Such dialogue will continue as TRIPP is implemented in Armenia in order to ensure that local communities remain informed and actively engaged in the process.
