WARSAW — Poland has granted an extradition request from Armenia’s Prosecutor General’s Office and handed over a wanted Armenian national, identified as G.K., to Armenian authorities.

G.K. is accused of illegally accessing information stored on a computer network as part of an organized group, causing significant damage to the victim. The charges also include the use of specially designed malware to unlawfully alter information stored on a computer network for financial gain, as well as the theft of property on an especially large scale through the use of computer technology and as part of an organized group.

G.K. is also accused of laundering criminal proceeds on an especially large scale as part of an organized group.

At the instruction of the Prosecutor General’s Office, officers of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs Police facilitated G.K.’s transfer to Yerevan.
