YEREVAN — The 23rd Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival has concluded. The festival’s official closing ceremony was held today at the Cinema House, where the jury announced the award winners.
In the International Feature Competition, the festival’s top prize, the Golden Apricot, was awarded to Milagros Mumenthaler’s The Currents. The Silver Apricot went to Morteza Ahmadvand and Firouzeh Khosrovani’s Past, Future, Continuous, while Sebastian Brameshuber’s London received a Special Mention from the international jury.
In the Regional Competition, the Golden Apricot was awarded to Amir Azizi’s Inside Amir, while Alexandre Koberidze’s Dry Leaf received the Silver Apricot. Dry Leaf also won the FIPRESCI Prize, presented by the International Federation of Film Critics.
In the “Apricot Stone” Short Film Competition, the Golden Apricot was awarded to Serouj Hovsepyan’s Dialogues Solitaire. The film also received the Gennadi Melkonyan Special Award. Hovhanna Gevorgyan’s Paid Mourners won the Silver Apricot in the same category.
The jury also presented Special Mentions to Sona Khachatryan’s Relic and Arthur Sahakyan’s Together Alone.
In addition, Tereza Nvotová’s Father received the Distribution Award for Armenia and Georgia, which includes €6,000 in financial support to facilitate the film’s regional distribution.
The festival concluded with the premiere of Godfrey Reggio’s Once Within a Time.
