YEREVAN — Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hosted a delegation led by Edgars Rinkēvičs, who arrived in Armenia on an official visit.

Pashinyan welcomed the Latvian delegation and noted that Armenia highly values the visit, emphasizing that President Rinkēvičs’ trip represents another strong step toward deepening bilateral and multilateral relations.

President Rinkēvičs thanked the Armenian side for the warm hospitality and recalled that he had previously visited Armenia in 2015 as Latvia’s foreign minister.

The two sides discussed the development of trade and economic ties, as well as expanding cooperation in various sectors, including tourism and education.

They also addressed the development of Armenia–European relations. In this context, both parties highlighted the importance of holding the first-ever Armenia–EU summit and the progress achieved toward visa liberalization.

The Latvian president expressed his country’s support for the visa liberalization process and voiced confidence that it would also contribute to expanding bilateral tourism ties.

The leaders additionally exchanged views on the Armenia–Azerbaijan peace process and other regional issues.
