YEREVAN — Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation led by Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission.
The Prime Minister welcomed the delegation’s visit to Armenia and emphasized the importance of continuously deepening Armenia–European Union cooperation. Nikol Pashinyan highly praised the EU’s consistent support for strengthening democratic institutions in Armenia, promoting the rule of law, advancing economic development, and implementing reforms in the public administration system.
Gert Jan Koopman reaffirmed the European Commission’s readiness to continue supporting reforms underway in Armenia and highlighted the progress made in expanding the EU–Armenia partnership. He underscored the importance of advancing cooperation in the areas of economic resilience, digitalization, and infrastructure development.
During the meeting, the parties discussed ongoing Armenia–EU cooperation programs, as well as future initiatives aimed at expanding economic opportunities, improving the investment climate, and strengthening regional stability.
Regional developments and the peace agenda were also addressed. Prime Minister Pashinyan presented the Armenian government’s positions aimed at establishing sustainable and lasting peace in the region.
Both sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to continuing close cooperation.
