MUNICH – As part of the Munich Security Conference, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

According to the Armenian government’s press service, Pashinyan extended his well wishes to those affected by a recent incident in Munich.

The two leaders discussed the agenda of Armenia-Germany bilateral relations and explored opportunities for expanding multi-sectoral cooperation. Pashinyan emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing trade and economic relations.

They also addressed regional security and stability issues. Prime Minister Pashinyan outlined the Armenian government’s efforts to promote peace in the region, providing details on the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative, which is based on principles of sovereignty, jurisdiction, equality, and reciprocity. He also shared updates on the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process.

Chancellor Scholz reiterated Germany’s commitment to supporting Armenia’s democratic reforms and ongoing efforts to achieve peace.

Both sides reaffirmed their willingness to deepen cooperation and underscored the importance of maintaining bilateral political dialogue, according to the official statement.
