YEREVAN (Armenpress) — Armenia national team and Manchester United Midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be appointed UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia.

Communication Officer at UNICEF Armenia Zara Sargsyan told “Armenpress” the ceremony will take place on November 9 at the Football Federation of Armenia.

Mkhitaryan has joined Armenia national team training camp for of their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Montenegro. The match will be played on Friday in Yerevan.

For over half a century UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors help children and women throughout the world to protect their lives and improve living conditions.

Celebrities cooperating with the UNICEF use their talents and fame to fundraise and advocate for children and support UNICEF’s mission to ensure every child’s right to health, education, equality and protection.
