GYUMRI — The Hayastan All-Armenian Fund and the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at expanding educational opportunities in Armenia’s regions. The first initiative under the agreement will establish a TUMO Box in the Mush neighborhood of Gyumri.

The project will provide young people ages 12 to 18 with greater access to modern technology and creative education.

The memorandum was signed at the TUMO Center in Gyumri by Aramayis Avetisyan, Executive Director of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund, and Marie Lou Papazian, CEO of TUMO.

“Sustainable community development is not limited to building infrastructure. What matters is the opportunities that infrastructure creates for people and how it transforms community life over the long term,” Avetisyan said.

“In the Mush neighborhood, the Fund has already helped dozens of families improve their housing conditions. Through our partnership with TUMO, we aim to take the next step by investing in children’s education, skills development, and the community’s future. This is the approach we seek to consistently advance through our programs,” he added.

The Hayastan All-Armenian Fund has constructed four residential buildings in Gyumri’s Mush-2 neighborhood, providing permanent housing for 86 families who previously lived in temporary shelters. The Fund has also built a kindergarten serving 50 children and established four workshops within the residential buildings.

The new TUMO Box will complement the neighborhood’s existing residential and social infrastructure, giving young people opportunities to develop technological and creative skills, participate in educational programs, and become more actively involved in community life.

Students attending the TUMO Box in Mush will complete self-learning activities locally and travel to the TUMO Center in Gyumri for workshops. The Gyumri center has been serving the city’s young people since 2015.

“At TUMO, we see education as a means of creating new opportunities. Our partnership with the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund will allow us to make these opportunities accessible to more young people, particularly those living in communities across Armenia,” said TUMO CEO Marie Lou Papazian.

“We are delighted to launch this partnership,” she added.

The memorandum also establishes a broader framework for cooperation, focusing on expanding educational opportunities throughout Armenia’s regions, integrating educational initiatives into community development projects, and engaging partners from Armenia and the Armenian Diaspora.
